NOTE: In 1978, Dr. Geissler took the Trinity College exams in civil engineering which included exams in quantity surveying and building construction technology. The exams were administered by a special committee of the Institution of Civil Engineers of Ireland for the specific purpose of evaluating the equivalency of Dr. Geissler’s USA education in engineering to that of Irish graduates. The proctor who administered the written exams was Prof. Ian Roberts, the Trinity College Architect. Based on these examinations, the degree Baccalaureus in Arte Ingenaria (BAI) and the Licence in Civil Engineering (LCE) were conferred on Dr. Geissler by Trinity College. Based on written exams in structural engineering in 1978, Dr. Geissler was named Chartered Engineer” by the Civil Engineers of Ireland. Based on a viva voce in structural engineering in 1989, Dr. Geissler was named “Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland” (FIEI) in structural engineering by the Institution of Engineers of Ireland ((ED. In 1989, Dr. Geissler was granted the title “European Engineer” (EUR ING) in structural engineering by the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI Registration Number 019551E).]
